I COULDN’T GET ON YESTERDAY

kakashi-sensei—:

Watching the sun rise higher and higher in the sky Kakashi sighed, clutching his book as his feet dangled from the tree branch. He was just outside the training grounds, watching as people came and went to train or to even just walk and relax. Kakashi personally found it soothing to sit high up and watch everyone improve while he read his novels. And today he was doing just that. He smiled as he watched people he knew unknowing pass beneath him. 

The only thing that had surprised him was when someone glanced up and waved at him. Had he been noticed?

Sakura was walking back to her apartment after a long day of training with Lady Tsunade when she noticed a gray figure perched on a nearby tree branch. She recognized the familiar Icha Icha book the person was holding and knew it was Kakashi-sensei. 

“Hey Kakashi-sensei,” Sakura waved. “What are you doing up there?”

Sasuke glanced at the clock impatiently from his place at the kitchen table. It was already five thirty. He wanted to start cooking dinner, but he didn’t know if Naruto would get up to eat. Who the hell took a nap this late anyway? He had tried to wake him up at five, but the idiot had just whined and held on to the covers with an iron grip when Sasuke attempted to yank them off of his body.

‘The dobe was probably just trying to get out of eating the vegetables I’ve been putting on his plate lately,’ he thought, tapping his foot on the ground restlessly as he took his head out of his hand to cross his arms. Knowing Naruto, he’d wake up late and use the time it took Sasuke to cook as an excuse to go out to Ichiraku’s. Well, he’d as he wasn’t allowed to leave Sasuke by himself, his plan would fail. Sasuke was not letting the dobe get his way - he’d cook while Naruto was asleep; the idiot could just reheat everything.

Standing up, he began to walk toward the cabinets that held the pots and pans, stopping abruptly when he heard a knock on the apartment door. He stood still for a moment, unsure of what he heard. He had only been living with Naruto for a short time, and they had never had any guests. 

When the knocking, louder this time, started up again, he cautiously made his way through the living room. Standing at the door, he put his hand on the knob without moving to turn it just yet.

“Who is it?” he called.

“It’s me, Sakura.”

She held a bag of groceries outside Sasuke and Naruto’s apartment. They had been living together ever since they confessed their feelings for each other. Sakura   acknowledged this and left the two alone for a while so they can “catch up” with each other after Sasuke’s departure two years ago. Sasuke held the door open so she could bring in the groceries. They were a new couple, so it’s gonna take some time for them to get on their feet, so she decided to go shopping for them.

“Hey Sasuke, I bought some vegetables especially for Naruto because I know he doesn’t eat as much greens as he should be.” 

Sasuke nodded and thanked her and then went into the kitchen again to prepare the food. It had been awkward for them because Sasuke had just recently returned to Konoha, which was a surprise for everyone. And not only that, he had confessed his feelings for Naruto right after. For someone like Sakura, who had once liked Sasuke, it was hard for her to comprehend that her teammates are gay for each other, but at least Team 7 is back to normal again. Almost.
